Position Overview
We are excited to announce an opening for a Business Development Representative within the outside/outbound Sales team. This is a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations and continuous success within the organization. This individual will be responsible for assessing potential sales opportunities, generating new business opportunities, developing attractive value propositions, targeting prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and setting up appointments.
The Candidate
Lead Generation & Pipeline Development:
- Proactively identify and create new business opportunities through targeted outreach to large enterprises.
- Engage both new prospects and untapped areas within existing accounts, qualifying opportunities, and securing meetings.
- Develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities for the Business Development team, while developing positive relationships with prospective clients.
- Consistently meet monthly targets for qualified opportunities.
Sales Strategy & Value Proposition:
- Evaluate potential opportunities and craft compelling, insight-led value propositions.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to influence high-value or complex opportunities.
- Contribute to territory planning and collaborate with the wider Sales team to shape and execute a shared strategy.
- Represent Softworks and the team’s credibility by communicating industry expertise with confidence and clarity.
Product Advocacy & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Develop a solid understanding of Softworks’ vertical solutions and communicate their value in a clear, engaging way.
- Champion our suite of solutions and cloud offerings.
- Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure delivery capability matches proposed solutions.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on industry trends, company offerings, and customer needs, and share that knowledge within the team and with prospects.
Continuous Improvement:
- Foster collaboration within the team and between departments for optimal outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
- Continuously assess and improve documents and processes to ensure that they meet the needs of the business and the employees.
- Gather valuable feedback on the system and the company, both positive and/or negative, ensuring that we receive customers honest opinions which will allow us to develop any necessary solutions to any aspect of the project.
Requirements:
- Experience within outside/outbound software sales, particularly time and attendance, or within the Human Resources/People marketplace is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- A positive mindset and a real drive to succeed – attitude matters as much as experience.
- Exposure to consultative sales is advantageous, but what counts most is your ability to demonstrate a consultative approach in how you engage and influence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to engage and build rapport at every organisational level.
- Strong telephone presence with effective presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Self-assurance to work with medium to large local and multinational organisations.
- A solutions-focused, analytical mindset with a genuine interest in emerging technologies and innovations.
- An understanding of how customers make decisions, including their goals, strategies, and buying dynamics.
- Time management and organizational abilities

Location:
The role will be based remotely in Houston, Texas. We currently have hybrid working in place, combining office-based working with working from home and working on client sites across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America.

Salary Details:
Base Salary $36,000 – $38,000 DOE (inclusive of healthcare contributions) + Uncapped OTE
